Gratitude to the Almighty and our incredible partners – ISDAO, Oyo State Police Command, Oyo State Civil Defense Corps, Oyo State Human Rights Commission, Oyo State Agency for the Control of AIDS, APIN Public Health, and Legal Aid Council! .Thanks to their support, we successfully conducted a transformative 28-Day Gender Sensitization Conference.
The focus of our training was on Sexual and Reproductive Health Rights (SRHR) for sex workers in Oyo state, part of the COSWOHI/ISDAO project named “Strengthening Autonomy and Freedom in Practice (SAFIP).”
Together with government bodies, stakeholders, and the health sector, we explored collaborative efforts to eliminate HIV prevalence by 2025. Our commitment is to treat every individual within the Key Population spectrum with dignity and respect, addressing the challenges faced by sex workers due to societal pressures.
The training emphasized the significance of embracing Human Rights for everyone, shedding light on SRHR to combat sexual violence against the Key Population. Practical measures such as the use of PEP and PrEP were highlighted to curb HIV infections in our society.
We’re thrilled that participants found the sessions enlightening, interactive, and fun-filled. Certificates were awarded to trainees, participants, and facilitators. A heartfelt thank you to our funders, partners, supporters, and contributors who made this project a resounding success!
